The Knights of Columbus is a worldwide Catholic Men's organization. You must be 18 years of age and a practical Catholic to become a member. What is a practical Catholic?
A practical Catholic:
accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals,
aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church,
and is in good standing in the Catholic Church.
in other words, you are practicing your Catholic faith, and aspiring to live fully in accord with it's precepts.
We also offer an insurance program, and we welcome new members and new ideas.
Activities of the Council consist of:
Memorial Day - K of C flags are put on the graves of deceased members at local cemeteries.
Visiting the sick members is done weekly, and a yearly Mass is said in honor of deceased members.
Valentine's Day - a sweethearts dinner is celebrated.
A Knight's/Wives Lenten Retreat - inactive at this time
An "Old Timer's" past Grand Knight's banquet is held.
Christmas party and dinner is held.
Monthly meeting's and social meetings are held with a monthly newsletter distributed to members.
The Ladies Auxiliary holds monthly meetings and organizes a yearly rummage and bake sale.
Honor Guard and rosary at funerals and Honor Guard for the Veteran's Honor Flight/financial support.
For the Family:
Annual summer picnic and family fun and game nights.
Recognition of the Family of the Year and recognition of Knight of the Year.
Corporate Communion on the fifth Sunday at different parishes.
For the Youth:
The annual Magic Show - currently inactive
K of C sponsor's a basketball free throw contest.
"Keep Christ in Christmas" poster contest.
Helps with sponsoring Kid's Fishing Day at Camp 7. - currently inactive
Financial support for Holy Name Catholic School.
For the Community:
K of C Float in the annual Christmas Parade.
40 cans for lent food drive.w
MI (tootsie roll) Drive to help those with disabilities.
"Casey" the Comfort Bear for Bishop Noa Home residents.
State Fair - Assist parking cars
For the Church:
A breakfast to for the yearly financial support of the Seminarians.
"Keep Christ in Christmas" yard signs.
Provides prayer cards and rosaries to the First Communion youth.
Support the priests and the local parishes.
Pro Life:
Pray the rosary in May for the unborn child, and at all times of the year.
Support the Pregnancy Services Center.
Support the family of the First Baby born in the New Year with a $250.00 grocery certificate. - currently inactive
